In an oral tradition, chants hold a treasure of teachings. Our opening chant,
Supplication to the Shambhala Lineage, is such a treasure, holding an overview of Shambhala Buddhism. The 4 classes will offer a look at 1) the Kagyu and Nyingma lineage in a broad view; 2) the history of Shambhala as it relates to Buddhism - from Dawa Sangpo to Vajrayana; 3) The importance of Gesar and the Mukpo clan, which is Chogyam Trungpa's and the Sakyong's family name; 4) the bodhisattva warrior and Rigden principle.
