On Sunday, May 6th, the Shambhala Meditation Center of San Antonio will host the monthly Dharma Discussion Group from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. This month’s discussion will focus on the film, Vajra Sky Over Tibet. We will watch the film while sharing lunch, and then we will discuss our observations and insights. Lunch will be provided at 12:30 pm, immediately following the general meditation practice.

Vajra Sky Over Tibet, a documentary feature by John Bush (2006), is a cinematic pilgrimage to some of the most revered venues and festivals still surviving in Tibet. The vastness of the Tibetan sky, reflecting snowy mountains, rushing rivers, and turquoise lakes, leads the journey west. Tibetans respond to the denial of the human right to practice one’s religion without interference with a defiant devotion. This film is the third in the Yatra Trilogy on Buddhism by John Bush.

Dharma Discussion Group participants include those who are committed to practicing the dharma, and interested in sharing their experiences with one another. The primary purpose of the Dharma Discussion Group is to discuss Buddhism as a living and conscious way to liberate spirit, and promote discipline in the study the Buddha’s teachings. All sangha members, as well as interested community members, are invited to join the Dharma Discussion Group at the monthly gatherings.
